I just went back through most of this thread and its so disappointing to see so many photos that are no longer viewable.
Here's a couple of my '27. Walking through a car show in the late '80s I stopped to look at a T and I said to my buddy, "I bet you I could build one like that for $3500 and have some fun". He said no way, so we shook hands and the gentlemen's bet was on. A few years later I actually had it running, licensed and drivable for somewhere around $2800. No paint or upholstery. A $350 f-glas body, $300 283/auto were the big ticket items everything else I made, came from the LB swap meet or I bartered for. The Model A frame my Dad found in the Nevada desert, I used E Ford front springs for quarter elliptic springs at all four corners. He also found the Edelbrock and 3 Strombergs at a garage sale for $150! Later on I added an old Stude steering column and had a bunch of stuff chromed. I was trying for the 1958-60 look.
It turned out way better than it had any right to. Sure was fun. Sorry for the pictures of pictures.

I went with the '26-27 because I thought it would have more room inside, yeah right.

Oh yeah, that's the radiator cap of my daily driver '29 pickup in the lower left corner. My buddy was driving that one, I think we were on our way home from Pomona, Bakersfield or something.

Thanks Sixball. It was sure fun to drive in spite of the cramped quarters. I sold it on eBay to help pay off my house so I could retire a little early. It went to a buyer in Florida. I wonder if it still exists?

Thanks, they were all from GNRS. That C cab was really righteous, I really don't think the pictures do it justice. It was a recently completed build and the owner was trying to sell it for $40,000!
I'm not sure how he arrived on that value but I'm pretty sure he brought it home.

Well I don't know too much about it other than it was a steel body, ford flathead and three speed tranny. It was also exceptionally cool The owner apparently drives it all the time.

Replaced the four bar set up with a set of ladder bars.
I think I'm going to cut out the front crossmember and install a model a crossmember to shorten the wheel base.

It deserves to be put to use every winter. People would pay to ride in that thing. A great bar hopper for Virginia City! They were quite common in the day even Chevy made a version.

  28. The "snowmobile" conversion kits were originally made for the US postal service. The mail carriers used them to deliver mail on rural routes in winter. The post offices used Model T's. I never saw one for a Chevy. That's cool.
