Here are some pics of the 1936 Dodge pickup I have been building up for the past 2 months. I bought it as a mostly complete bone stock truck. I'm hoping to have it done for billetproof this year. There's still alot of work to be done, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I still plan on chopping it 8" and the motor will have a weiand dual quad tunnel ram and fabbed valve covers. more to come......................... 36 Dodge cab and rails 36 Dodge front axle assy. makes me really miss mine, but i dont miss how cramped it was if you look closely you can see my knee sticking up above the window
wow....the internet is an amazing place! your truck is actually the one that sparked this project along!!! I saw pics of it on ebay, and I had to build one for myself. Cool truck man!
heres some pics of the frontend. I havent got around to finishing the steering.....but you get the general idea. I also plan on adding leafs to it....it only hovers about 3/4 of an inch off the ground as it is right now. not sure if i'll paint the axle, etc.....
Hey, Scotty, Thanks for the pics! I've been looking at the pics of the front end brackets, etc. Could you give a little more detail on how you made/got the brackets that connect to the '38 Dodge pickup front-end assembly, and HOW they attach? Might be that I'll do my '37 MOPAR pickup the same way.
all the brackets, arms, etc....are homemade. the front radius rod backets are welded to the u bolt plates from the stock frontend and then bolted to the stock mounting locations on the axle. look close at the pics, and i'm sure you will see what i mean.
Well, until I printed the pictures out, I couldn't see how it was all connected together because in just viewing the pictures on my computer it was too dark. Now that I printed them it came out lighter and I can see how you did it. What are you going to do for front brakes? Are you planning to run with the stock 36 Dodge brakes? I read somewhere that PLYDO has a disk brake unit that might fit.
disc brakes work well, but i think they would ruin the look of the front of the truck. and....yes....I'm using the stock 36 brakes. who needs to stop anyways??????
heres a link to the complete buildup of the truck on my myspace page......

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=3005670&blogID=118491199&MyToken=b6ad854d-2327-406f-9d49-f5ed0a20b5ab
iv always had a "fantasy" about getting into a wild argument around one of those cars and impaling someone on the exhaust pipes.
got the motor mostly together.....i've been lagging quite a bit on the truck lately, but i'm jumping back in with both feet next week.
That thing is nasty, i love it... i wish the jersey roads were flat enough to ride that low... nice work.. I have a 33 dodge i'm going to be starting this winter.. i think there are some ideas i'll borrow, if you don't mind
i'm pretty sure the roads here in sonoma county are just as bad...hahah...thats why i built the frame like a sherman tank so it can handle a few bumps here and there. send me some pics of that 33 (car or truck?) when you start it...it sounds pretty cool
