There is a great deal of stuff on here about Bonneville !

And he was a great racer as well .

Sorry to hear that... I was glad to see some of his racecars on display in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.... these were quite some hot rods.

  16. I can remember watching the 24 hours of LeMans one year and as he was signing autographs a Rolls Royce powered RAF bomber came flying over, so he stops, politely asks the crowd for silence and just sat there listening quietly with a warm smile on his face. RIP Sir Stirling.

The title of this thread "STERLING MOSS PASSES" was probably spoken or thought countless times by his competitors as Sterling passed them on the track.

    RIP Sterling, you were golden!

Brain fart on my apart. Mainly thinking of his road racing exploits I completely forgot about Bonneville. A truly great man in all aspects.

Drove when men were men with no power steering and lucky to have a good quality safety belt, helmet, or roll over bar. RIP..

Read his autobiography when I was a young fellow.
very interesting and insightful as to European
racing. Would read it again if I still had it.

Talented, tough and outspoken. He carried himself well, as most International
racers from that time did. Take the time to dig up his autobiography, "All But My Life".

Was teamed for a while with Juan Fangio. Argueably the best pair of road race team mates in history.
