May be getting a chopped 49 Mercury in the near future. The engine compartment has a Chevy 350 and is just so-so right now. If I get it I was wondering should I should go nostalgic - finned valve covers, etc., or since the car has beautiful black paint could I go with black features such as intake, valve covers, etc. I am not looking for a streetrod look. Would the black take away the 50s Mercury nostalgic look? Just want to dress it up and look different than others. Looking for ideas as to what you think.
