My Chevy has a small block with a mini starter. I tried wrapping the starter with a heat reflecting wrap, but to many wires. I have block hugger headers, and they are very close to the starter.
My question is ; are you guys wrapping your headers to protect the starter from header heat? If so any recommendations on the best ( easiest /effective) wrap to use?

Thanks in advance for any help provided

I have two cars with headers and ministarters and I have never had any troubles for thousands of miles.

Have you looked into a high torque starter and /or forming a sheet metal
shield? Headers cooked the starter on my '66 Nova (very close quarters)
    and wrap didn't help enough.
