Hey guys going to be running a set of 15x6 and 15x8 chrome smoothies on my 1959 edsel and was looking and couldn’t find any threads but figured someone on here knows. Car is lowered on Aerostar springs and 1.5 inch blocks but going down another inch or 2 once it’s on 15s with a bit taller tire. Anyone running this combo on an edsel or similar ford? If so what tire sizes are you running? Considering the BFG silvertowns but open to real world experience suggestions I know online reviews can be skewed. Thank in advance!

Check the diameter of the original tires and be close. As I remember they can with 7.50 or 8.00 14's and try to be close. Not the same year but 205's fit on my 15x6's on the front and 215's on the back both are 75 series which will look good on your fronts. For the rears on 8" wide you will need a 70, 65 or possibly a 60 series but I would lean to a 70 or 65.
Screw around on tire rack or similar site to find diameters using buy tires buy size.

Those are exactly what I want actually but I got these wheels new for like 200 bucks so I’ll run these just so I can get the stance correct and order those down the road.

7.50-14 on 14x6 chrome reverse, cut coils up front and 3 inch (I think) lowering blocks in rear

I learned that 14" tires suck. Theres few choices on sizes and they dont hold air as well as 15s. my friends and I are constantly adding air

  9. I had aerostars on the front of my '59 Ford with 215/75-15 radials. The tires scraped too often for my liking and I took them out, just something to be aware of. My disc brake conversion may have shot the tires out a bit.

This is some 60 Ford. It is running 195/65r15 on front and 215/70r15 on back on 15x8 wheels Screenshot_20200405-085722_Facebook.jpeg

Why would 14” tires not hold air as well as 15”?
