Have no idea lol , there seems to be some patches added to the car. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
yep I noticed that, - rear right quarter doesn’t look original to me, the swages look off, but things like that don’t matter. A lot of these old cars have had a hard life, sometimes as stock cars and now we are resurrecting them. here’s my old stock car.........
You have a good eye man, I’m new two the 32 body lines to even notice lol Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Love the fenders on your ride man wish mine came with it, always liked that look. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Don’t sand UNTIL you try some C-L-R first.....it’s a household product that attacks rust! Read this: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/whats-the-story-on-using-clr.990241/
No man...put a hemi back in that thang! It can be a stock one, doesn't need to be all hopped up, the mounts are already there.
Yeah been thinking of just keeping the patina look for sure. Definitely would need a lot of body work. Has a lot of dings in the body. It’s going to take a lot of hours to get this body back into shape. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Yeah that’s still up in the air right now. Although I do have a flathead and transmission for me to throw in there to get this thing moving along. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Is that the same car, after and before photos, (hopefully not before and after photos), how did you treat the surface rust ? Thanks
Mine after trying to get paper on it with no luck.....old stock car "Jalopy" racer sitting on a model A chassis. Sold it and dirt car has it now.
Spark plugs still go through the middle of the heads like a hemi. Sent from my LM-V405 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'm pretty sure this coupe started life out as a 4 door. I would chop it and replace the roof with a United Pacific roof to make it right. either way it is a cool project.
'32 five window, then 30 years later a '62 five window, how about them apples. Sent from my XT1710-02 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
So I tried the CLR today. Have to say it worked pretty good. You have to make you soak it good man. Sprayed it a couple times . Did use the 3m rolock bristles after to help clean some of the rust . Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I also used a pressure washer guys to clean up the mess from the CLR I used. That seems to help out also. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Looks great.....now get some Gibbs oil. The Gibbs oil will go on wet, but dries and will help keep it from re-rusting. Probably get a couple 12oz.
