Beautiful! Hopefully, I'll get a chance to see it this summer. At the very least, maybe at Beaver this August. Enjoy.

I had been thinking about a rear bumper all along. I had bought a length of 1" ss tube ,but my bender just kinked it. Earlier on I had bought a 16 gage ss 1 1/4 " elbow to use for an oil fill tube. That also didn't pan out . So I'm laying in bed one night and this thought jumped into my head , I wonder how well the radius on that elbow matches the corner of my car. So the next morning after a long search to find that elbow ,wow ! It was a perfect match. So after buying another elbow and a straight piece I started building my little bumper. After welding all three pieces together and grinding the welds trying not to gouge into the parent metal, the variable that I hadn't considered became clear. The Heat Affected Zone on either side of the weld which was about 5/16 "wide and .005" deep . After some thought and because I'm into this for a few bucks I decided to reduce the diameter of the tube by .010 " I done this by filing and then block sanding the entire length between the radiuses. At this point I'm of the opinion that I'm not wrapped to tight. For the caps on the ends I got some ss 5/8" carriage bolts and cut the heads off and they became the ends. I have a lot of time in that little bumper,
but that's all water under the bridge ,but it's also a look into who I am. :D:p:rolleyes:

Fake or not, it's a good looking car. At least 60 years from now no one will find it sitting under a tree all rusted out.

Bill, I hope this crap is over by the Cherry Valley show. I figured you would have some louvers some where, cool. Is your club going to have any cruise nights this year? I didn't make any last year, but I'm ready to go right now, this staying home sucks. Stay healthy & safe.

  30. I was actually referring to the tires as the sidewall reminds me of the old Goodyear Supercushions but I see they are a reasonable facsimile instead! The seats are great as well. Nice job all around!
