Walden roof insert welded in. Got a lot of hammer dolly work, then close up the visor corners.

That is some great work, thanks for sharing. My project is at a similar stage.

    Nice work all round.
Pedals look good, it looks like you're going to mount the master cylinders behind the dash, facing rearward. Is that right?
Also, I really like the recesses in your boxing plates. Care to share a little more detail on them?

The pedals will use a 60's truck M/C in the normal (outside) location. The lever above the pivot are for the brake light switch. The pedals are from RJays.

The boxing plates are doubled. One set had the windows cut out. That windowed plate was then welded overtop a full boxing plate. The circumference of each window was then tig welded and ground down to give the illusion that it was stamped. A lot of work -- that I did not do. Mike Wagner from Cornfield did it.

    Quality workmanship going on here.
What was your reason for stepping the rear fire wall out into the passenger compartment to meet the roll cage? I'm 6.4 so the parcel shelf had to go for me to fit in an A. Maybe it isn't as deep as it looks?

Thanks. Needed Room for the gas tank. Any further back and the filler neck would hit the deck lid. It’s only forward 1.75”

Got the wood back in. It was pretty easy. I posted a thread on how I did it, in case anyone needs some ideas.

Spent the week on some smaller projects. A drop-down battery box for a group 51 battery. And a low mount for a denso alternator.

  24. Cool car & beautiful workmanship.
But how do you adjust alternator belt tension? Does the one little slot give you enough adjustability?

Yes it does. Thats typical with this style low mount. (Hot Heads)

  26. Thanks- good to know. :)
It's a pretty tight fit down there between the frame, timing cover, and lower pulley.

Yes it is tight. My biggest concerns are the bracket flexing and the small amount of belt contact area on the crank pulley.
