I bought these years ago and I don’t remember what the application is, possibly just an aftermarket turbo muffler? Pat. No. Appears to be 4565260

A search of that patent number brings up this:

    • Mechanical lock joint for vehicular exhaust system muffler and the like
      Patent number: 4565260
Abstract: In a vehicular exhaust system muffler, a mechanical tube and end panel joint. A bead extends about the tube. The bead is integral to the tube, annular, and radially outwardly extending. An annular flange extends along the tube and abuts the bead. The flange is integral to the end panel. A plurality of integral, interlocking protrusions are simultaneously deformed into the tube and flange. The bead, flange and protrusions totally mechanically join the tube and end panel.
      Type: Grant
      Filed: October 2, 1984
Date of Patent: January 21, 1986
      Assignee: Maremont Corporation
Inventors: Wayne A. Scheidt, Robert J. Paterick

Looks like it’s a muffler made by Maremont

I suppose if you wanted to you could contact them directly at Maremont and send them the pictures asking for information.

That sounds like them, does it offer any other information? Are they replacements for a factory muffler or are the just a generic turbo muffler?

Is there a cross reference in your catalog?
