Even worse I was a wing wiping Electronics Technician LOL. Went to schools in big old rooms like safes with huge thick metal doors and we were locked in. We did the electronic countermeasures and the sovs wanted to recruit us bad LOL. When I got out the neighbors all asked "what the hell did you do? The FBI was around asking about you. Back then we got crypto clearances which were higher than Top secret and they really did go around to schools and neighbors checking you out

  3. Thank you, SIR.

First of all, as a fellow veteran, your service to the country is appreciated. Older vintage piston powered, propeller aircraft are more my preference, I do have a love and appreciation for a very select few American jets. The original flying wing, F-86 Saber, F-4 Phantom, A-10 Warthog. Just my preference, but to me those 4 aircraft were phenomenal machines that were unique creations that were game changers in the realm of aerial combat. Even though the original flying wing was designed to be a bomber, the vision of Jack Northrup and his design certainly made a big impact on world of aviation!

  8. Oh yeah. We had black areas, the application for security clearance was 39 pages long. I was escorted into one once to look at something (broken off screw...) and whatever I was not supposed to see was cloaked off. I was very surprised that the area had their own armed guards. Now my clearance is a lot lower, it is expensive to maintain. Some of the higher clearances need checking every few months.

Still have the DD Form 398 I completed as part of my application for a security clearance for when I was a MP at a high security special weapons facility (government speak for nukes) in the middle of no where. Had to list everything I ever did or thought about doing since I was born.
