I attached a stainless steel welding rod to a cap screw that holds on the timing cover. Once you find tdc, many ways, I marked that spot with a paint line on the timing cover to your tdc on the damper . Then made the rod to come across it painted white. You can expand the photo I’ve included at the damper and see it. 0523E038-4B27-4B64-A847-85B51D804261.jpeg

I used three 4x8 sheets and I’ll have a small pile of left overs and maybe a 40x36 piece. I used more than I thought and that’s without any real mistakes.

0321201159.jpg Maybe I've been "sheltering in place" too long.
Decided to see if I could convert a T5 with an electronic speedometer to cable drive using an old cabledrive speedo T4 transmission I've been running.
I swapped the tailshaft housings and speedo gears, used some JB weld, the speedo gear clip and the hole in the output shaft to hold the gear in location.
Drove it last night and it seems to work fine so far.
I'm not recommending it at as a tech solution until I get some miles on it but perhaps it will give someone else an idea to play with in their down time.

Tractor with backhoe. Took a week. I hauled it to the local compost yard. They said "Get the hell out of here!". After some pleading they agreed to take it if I returned with a saw and cut it up, which I did.

oldsfrench, Man it is tough everywhere. Sometimes it is easy to not realize that everyone every where is suffering. Most important thing is to stay safe. It will get better and in time you will be back working on that Olds. Once again Stay Safe over there!
