Nice project, just a tip, when doing all the cutting , grinding and welding inside the car, you should cover all the windows to keep the grind and weld splatter off the glass.

Hello Sarah. I used to have a '61 Ranchero. Would love to find another one. They are just the right size for a parts chaser truck. Scan-200330-0001.jpg

I'd say today was a good day! Dad was able to come over and do the floor on the right side, which was a fantastic surprise! Tomorrow we're getting some sheet metal to fill in the gaps. I am so excited to get this going. It's hard, dirty work.. but it's definitely worth it. I definitely could not do all this alone and honestly don't know how some of you guys do it. I really love having this site to not only keep track of what I've done and how the progress is going. I very well might be able to meet my goal of getting it road worthy by August.

Thanks again guys! Hope you're feeling just as excited as I am!! IMG_20200330_195157417.jpeg

Can anyone else imagine a Ranchero panel? Maybe one of you sketchers?

Hello. I just meant "Is it just me, or can anyone else see that year Ranchero as a panel truck?"
I saw an 80s Corvette in a magazine against a black background. I colored the back glass in with a black marker and saw that they would make an awesome roadster pickup. I had a cover on my '72 Vega that partially blew off, still covering the back half. It looked like it would make a nice pickup. (I'm not going to find out though)
The part about the sketchers meant that maybe one of the car artists could do a sketch. (I paint landscapes but can't draw a car worth a dern)

Ha. I wasnt suggesting it either. I don't remember ever seeing one. What I imagined was just a radius from the top to the side, without the trim.
OK, back OT. Sarah, what you said about "...hard, dirty work." is exactly what my dad told me when he suggested that I work with him. He supervised two diesel fuel-tank lines. (Stayin' on topic, metalwork) He said "It's hard, dirty work, but you can make a livin' at it."
PS: He was the best boss I ever had.

Before you detailed under the hood you should have taken some metal out of the shock towers moving them in as much as possible, you will need that extra room for the 302's exhaust then you could run HEDMAN 88400 headers (Early Mustang) ;)
