Hello all, the fall of 2018 my father purchased the chemical city coupe off of Dave Gray. It was his retirement gift from himself to himself. I will be posting some pictures of the coupe and you will see some of the little changes made. Nothing radical, but from now on the coupe will be an open engine hotrod as the car did not come with the hood sides, or the grill block off or the flat discs. As of right now, dad is fully cleaning and detailing the coupe. Headers were ceramic coated, etc so that's why it's apart in one of the pictures. So without further ado, here is the current state of the chemical city coupe and it's garage mates, as well as a picture of me and dad in the car. My 409 impala might pop up in a picture or 2 as well.

What's not to like about a hi-boy 32-5 window coupe with a Nailhead for motorvation. That's a great car. You guys look very cosy in there.

Good for Dad, and a great choice for a hot rod! Those other cars are not exactly slouches either ;)

  7. Always loved the Chemical City Coupe. The '49 Coupe is sweet as well. Tell your Dad that smoking isn't healthy!;)

  8. Beautiful hot rod. Curious how you like the cowl steering given all the posts about the downside of this set up.

Super cool! I was hoping we were not about to read about a major change to the theme of the original car. Really nice to see your dad staying with the car’s original character!

I was also checking out that Black 63. That's my all time favorite Chevrolet...

It's not bad to be honest. Dad and I are also currently going over the car front to back. Rebuilding all tier of ends and such as the car has all of a sudden developed the death wobble.

Nice ride, great taste, good for your dad! Drive the tires off it!
