Fantastic!!!..... Hope you can post some pictures of Holley's oddball 4160 carbs.... I have one that came from a mid '60's t-bird that has a choke horn for both the primary and secondaries..... But it's all apart in a box somewhere in my garage.....:(

That was a beginning, basically of pictures I already have on my computer.

I will be adding more exhibits, as time permits.

I am trying to limit this mostly to US produced carbs, so that lets out the SU; plus about all I could post would be literature. Before I was bit by the "buy American" bug, I had a few SU's until the Harley dudes found out. I quickly sold out of the Triumph, and Jaguar SU's, and had a waiting list of the Harley dudes, so they could junk their Linkert.

I do plan to picture one Canadian carb, the Pogue. So very rare.

Also have a Fish to picture, and some other weird stuff.

As to Holley, somewhere I still have a Camaro Trans-Am 4150, but I don't know exactly where it is. Other than the Haystack Holleys, I think that is the only Holley 4-barrel I have, and two more than I wish I had ;) Definitely not a big fan of Holley, at least for street use. Too many fires on low mileage personal cars that I bought new! I do have more unusual Holley literature to post, some of which I would wager 99 percent of the Holley dudes have never seen. Maybe someone else can do a Holley museum.

    Jon.

Thank you for sharing. I like the Zenith mileage tester and the Hygrade work station. I think I want one of those .

When I acquired that Hygrade work station some 40 years ago, virtually all of the stickers on the glass jars were horrible. I had spent a considerable amount of money with Hygrade buying their entire (at that time) obsolete inventory. I sent a letter to my contact at Hygrade asking permission to reproduce the stickers for my own use; along with pictures of the work station, and the glass jars w/stickers.

Didn't hear anything for a couple of months, and then, to my surprise, and delight, I received a letter from one of the vice-presidents of Hygrade giving me authority to reproduce the stickers for my use in restoring or partially restoring the work station. I know this doesn't mean much to some of the younger folks who grew up with the internet and a total disregard for copyrights, etc., but it really did mean something to me. I reproduced the generic stickers, and with the aid of the Hygrade documentation (planograph) in one of the old Hygrade manuals, reproduced the part numbers on the individual jars. I sent him pictures and a half dozen of the stickers when I had finished the project.

I use it for parts storage currently.

I have added several new exhibits today, and that will conclude the initial exhibits. Others will be added in the future.

    Today's additions include:

Correcting the alcohol pump to alcohol control valve per Joe P.'s suggestion. Thank you Joe.
Pictures of the infamous Rochester type AA, and the one year only Rochester BB
The 1918 Oldsmobile 2-barrel that some enthusiasts keep calling a 4-barrel
Some rotary throttle carbs, including a prototype with gear drive on the throttle
The aftermarket Riley and Flynn high performance carburetors.
The Detroit Lubricator type 51 Cadillac V-12 carb.
The "high mileage" (along with a tooth fairy [IMG] ) Pogue and Fish carburetors.
The Woodworth VCCV (parent of the Preditor)

I have some very interesting (at least to me) Holley stuff to add, but it is buried, and I am busy. One of the Holley items to list is a two-barrel flowing approximately 600 CFM MEASURED ON THE 4-BARREL SCALE, that was introduced in 1929! The carburetor was in production from 1929 into the mid-1950's. This fact conveniently ignored by the automotive journalists that write the tripower came to pass (1957) because there wasn't a large enough single carburetor. The Holley is a model DD-5. The throttle bores are the same size as the secondary on a Q-Jet.

Very interesting, thank you for sharing. Being a retired auto-shop teacher, I like anything advertising car-products of yester-years, including carburetors. I especially like speed shop advertising and light-up signs. I hope if I share a couple carburetor items I have cartercabinet (1).JPG garagesigns (6).jpg garagesigns (7).jpg garage photo3.JPG I am not perceived as hi-jacking this thread....

    Jon,

I just found this when I saw that it is one of your featured threads. It's my loss that I had never seen it before.

    WOW!!!!!!

This is a rabbit hole that I plan to go down and spend many hours exploring. I wish I could just start at the beginning and read everything posted in one fell swoop, but no one could stay awake that long.

Can I get your permission to post the link on my Facebook page?

    Here's a Holley I'll bet few know about -

Holley made carburetors that were bolted to WWII radial engines, like the B-25, the B-24, the B-29, and I think the B-17 .
Skip down a little to the big black Holley picture, lotsa reading how it worked up in low air pressures of altitude.

  28. I missed this thread the first time around. Particularly enjoy the work station and tool kits. Does the museum have a gift shop?

On a recent visit to the T-P Tools store I spotted these posters on display promoting "Carter The Great". Oddly though, there was no mention of his involvement in the carburetor business.
