The annual vintage swap meet in our little town in NZ is always packed with old stuff we don't need , though this year despite being overflowing with “stuff” actual old car parts seemed down . Fantastic hot day , followed buy Burnzy and Anitas invite only “Flathead Fiasco “at their way cool rural property. Great hospitable folk , super cool shop. The smoker was fired up with ribs, Jalapeno poppers , bath tub full of ice and adult refreshments ,, perfect. Bangers almost outnumbered the flathead v8s this year, a couple of the bangers were fairly quick too as far as bangers go. There were some old bikes and a super nice 38 Chevy coupe and a few other invited monkey motion motors there to add to the mix. A super nice original 48 super deluxe coupe ,still with factory blue paint on the floors ,and lots of genuine rub through on the enamel , only knew when he shut it down as the fan was not turning!!
Anitas new ride was a super cool 35 pickup in satin black with a quiet as a mouse 8BA. Looks like all had a god time. Something I'd like to attend. I'm looking out my window at about an inch of snow that we got over the weekend. Our swap meets here in the North West have been getting smaller with less vintage parts as well. The black '47 looks a lot like my black '47 Coupe, except I don't have a visor or skirts. I am running dual fog lamps (factory Ford) and wide white walls. The 59AB has 8BA crank and rods, dual Stromberg 97s on an Offenhauser intake with Edelbrock heads and Columbia Overdrive. Always enjoy reading about and looking at pictures of other rodders in the far reachs of our planet. We always seem to understand each other. Hats off to the H.A.M.B. for bringing us so close to each other.

  5. Was a great day alright. Perfect weather and a nice sized gathering of car guys and gals that 'get it' as far as early style hotrodding and customs go. I was truly humbled to have some of the nicest cars in the country hanging at our place. Thanks again kiwi 4d for all your efforts on saturday, can't wait for next year now!
