I had to float the rear decal in water and bring the body up to place it correctly.

Here are some stalled projects I am trying to get done, the 32 Ford 2 door sedan is a crappy AMT version that should have been thrown in the trash but got it looking better. The 28 roadster was built out of parts 100_9943.JPG 100_9945.JPG 100_9947.JPG

  7. philo426 -Thanks. It's a very rare kit. Monogram made 3 in the series that I'm aware of...a '41 Willys ( the Wild Willys ) , a '34 Ford coupe ( the Screamer ) and this '37 Fiat ( the Hemi Fiat ). For 1/32 scale kits they had pretty good proportions and detail. I've searched for them on EBay, I hardly ever find one, and when I do they go for big bucks. The Willys recently went for $55.00! I wonder what the status of the original kit molds is.

    Don't remember those kits!

  9. Guess they didn't make that many of them. Too bad.

  11. I quarantined myself until I see what's going on with this virus thing. So I thought it would be a good time to fix up some of my old glue bombs. Ron...... 20200316_223304.jpeg

Excellent models here, great stuff to view. My name is Mike, 69yrs. Veteran USAF, living in Germany, born and raised in Florida.

Guys, I just recently made my 1st topic here on the Technical Forum, and have since found out there's quite an interest for model cars too! I never would have thought this, but I'd like to show what's on the bench right now. I like metal builds, and a trusty soldering iron. Most bodies are resin though, this one is aluminum.

Here a vintage FED, brass chassis, correct 1:25 scratch build. Kent Fuller chassis, with modifications at the roll bar. This is a 150" car, from early days of the Gen II Hemi, call it 1967. An injected motor, not blown for a change. These photos will pretty much cover what's been done so far.

I can update further should some interest be shown. Thanks for looking too, I really didn't expect on this one and only true hot rod forum such an interest in tiny cars.

    Mike..

I've been away for awhile... Good progress fellas! That Beatnik Bandit is tough... The outlaw kit is just as bad if not worse.
I've been working on this 53 F100 show truck for a bit... It's got a slight Winfield fade and pegasus hobbies wheels. 20200312_223309.jpg 20200312_223425.jpg 20200310_220129.jpg 20200218_091338.jpg

  21. I did this old 29 Roadster pickup kinda like Ralph's HAPPY DAYS Rod. I didn't like the fake headers and air scoop. So I built it more like the pre show or Green Acres appearance. 20200321_093356.jpeg 20200321_093214.jpeg 20200321_093458.jpeg 20200321_093142.jpeg

So I'm still messing with a '65 Nova that I brought back from Rat Packer status. Nearly finished with the engine, a 327 from the '64 Nova kit with a resin Powerglide I cast up:
    IMG_0136.JPG
Had issues with the fan belt and oil filler tube, which were hitting the hood, so I shortened both (which is lots of fun when they're already installed and painted).
    Got the interior nearly done:

I'm happy with how the pedals and parking brake turned out, as well as the instrument cluster. The Krylon Champagne paint turned out metal-flakier than I wanted, but press on regardless.

Chassis is dressed up with some front suspension parts from the Trumpeter Nova; a second exhaust/muffler installed, rear springs are carved open and traction masters from an AMT shoebox Ford were added. Next is detail paint and weathering.

Tail and backup lights were cast in red and clear resin; paint job is Artesian Turquoise laid down by my late friend and mentor, master modeler Tom Piagari. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for this, I really appreciated the warm welcome you and a few other members offered a while back. Someone mentioned coming over here to "Sunday models", never thought you real car guys would be interested in really tiny cars too. I'm still nuts about your truck, what a beauty!

Here an update on the vintage FED. Block got some paint, and the heads have studs on top to support the individual port injection setup, and tubes were added below so the individual zoomie pipes could be mounted. The cockpit gets a clutch and gas pedal and a pull brake lever along with a pinion support, an aluminum clutch can is bent and mounted now to the motor plate. I've found out it's better to mount the firewall/motor plate to the motor now, rather than leaving it attached to the chassis. Things get tight in there soon.

    Thanks for looking, Mike..
