Painted the dash in my '50 Chevy avatar. A nice two tone, dark blue metallic upper and dark charcoal metallic lower. Now to assemble the interior garnish mouldings.

Started Phase II of fender renovation. Removing broken filler caused by rear smash.
Started misting. Had to move inside. Phase I was repairing dent and filling a hole that was cut for a '65 Impala light. Kind of "custom", but it ruined the smoothness. IMG_20200313_124133.jpg (primered area)

  5. G'day, Extremely exciting day here. I was supposed to have a medical procedure done this morning. It was scheduled for first thing this morning so I took a vacation day from work. The cyst decided to burst on its own last night so the pretty doctor lady just cleaned it and prescribed some antibiotics. She admitted that it was far less painful than if she had done it so there is that.

  6. Purchased an repro Deuce roadster body, it's a race now against the grim reaper.

Also, this piece was flat when I started.

I guess the heat from the wire end brush was enough to warp is slightly. Won’t hurt it where it’s going, but was kinda surprised.

Made myself a batch of Hand Sanitizer this afternoon. I only had a few small bottles laying around from the car show goodie bags and the stores around here have been out for the last couple weeks. Never realized that they had an expiration date. Oldest one I found was from Sept 2011. Now I should have plenty of my own brand "HAND SAN 20" to get me through and to fill my small bottles if I need to carry any with me. Still the best method is to wash your hands with soap. Too much use of hand sanitizer does a number on your skin.

Well, the Berrymans worked out real well, was able to literally wipe all the carbon off with just a rag, took brakekleen and blew out the ring lands, came out spotless.

Sure beat hours with a wirebrush.

Spent most of the last 2 days “tuning up” a 40 Chev grille. Had it blasted then started welding/grinding/filing/sanding cracks and splits. Still have a ways to go. Haven’t made the end plan on final look. Squeeze-bay has a finished/plated one for $1600..... don’t think I’m going there. C8E9D867-76B7-4465-BF71-15AACE9EB4D7.jpeg

    From the BillyBob Shop log

March 16th 2020 The cab exterior painting ops are being divided into three segments for the rest of the work. The first segment will be the top down to the belt line, followed by the back side bottom and then the firewall area. I dragged an old folding table out of the corner and set it up as a paint and bodywork station for the duration of the work.

things not looking good for us on arrival

  29. Went and hung out at Nostalgia Sid’s Dropped Axles open house Saturday. It rained all morning so that kept a few away and not many drove old cars. But, the chili was good as usual and it was great to catch up with lots of friends. My son also got to show off his progress on his project some too so he was running on adrenaline.
