    I've named this one KingPin. I've always loved the old school cars. After going to a couple SEGA events I decided I had to do this. Got a long way to go IMG_20191124_154034373.jpg IMG_20191124_154034373.jpg IMG_20191124_154043043.jpg IMG_20191126_085933113.jpg IMG_20191127_201705566.jpg IMG_20191212_142838027.jpg IMG_20191217_165457488.jpg IMG_20191228_104808168.jpg IMG_20200109_132825880.jpg IMG_20191126_085933113.jpg IMG_20191124_154034373.jpg IMG_20191127_201705566.jpg IMG_20191126_085933113.jpg IMG_20191212_142838027.jpg IMG_20191228_104502315.jpg IMG_20191228_104808168.jpg IMG_20200125_111631922.jpg IMG_20200209_185328070.jpg IMG_20200212_115005790.jpg IMG_20200212_115118860.jpg IMG_20191217_165457488.jpg IMG_20191124_154034373.jpg IMG_20191124_154043043.jpg IMG_20191126_085933113.jpg IMG_20191127_201705566.jpg IMG_20191212_142838027.jpg IMG_20191217_165457488.jpg IMG_20191228_104502315.jpg IMG_20191228_104808168.jpg IMG_20200109_132825880.jpg IMG_20200109_132858394.jpg IMG_20200112_193757232.jpg IMG_20200115_194619543.jpg IMG_20200125_111631922.jpg IMG_20200209_185328070.jpg IMG_20200209_185316338.jpg IMG_20200212_115005790.jpg IMG_20200212_115118860.jpg

I thought it might be a new build, then I noticed there's a broom in about every other photo.

I thought all Cameos were big window. The one I had
was. I do see you have put the big window rear panel
in place. That looks Cameo to me! Cool build.

Cameos have fiberglass fleetside type bed sides.

Yes it's a 58, I basically bought a cab and frame. All the rest will be fiberglass and front cap will be a 55.

I like the later trucks but finding the 57-58 mouldings is costly, one of the reasons I'm doing a 55.

55 looks better IMHO with the single headlights anyway.

Looking good, thanks for choosing the Southeast Gasser Association to showcase your gasser when it's finished. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help along the way.

"Looks" like your engine setback is a bit too much. Best get the rulebook and start measuring. :)

  20. Having had a '56 and a '58 Cameo I'm looking forward to your build.
The Cameo tail lights/trim is hard to find..maybe not an issue for you.

10% of the WB. Which would be 11.4 on a truck. I went 8.5 % and allowed 3/16 on engine height after suspension settlement. I was going to go about 6-7% but since I'm going to use a transverse spring I needed a little more room for a cross member. First time using a truck for drag and things work out different. With the rocker height rule I've actually lowered the truck. Maybe everything will work out.

You have helped me in more ways than I can explain. The way drag racing has changed I had sorta lost interest. Technology has made it fast and boring but impressive.

I may be headed to Knoxville to look at a lathe. Might see if you are around then.

I had a 55 Cameo. It was set up with a corvette motor
I rescued from the Hurricane Betsy carnage (1965). Complete with the 4 speed and an olds rear with welded spider gears. I installed a set of early Nova fender well headers that fit perfectly. All that had to be done was disconnect the E brake handle. Who need one of those! This was the summer of 69. I had a large time being totally obnoxious with the vehicle. Note, tire smoking launches on Bourbon St. in the French Quarter on a Friday nite are frowned upon by the New Orleans P.D.
I did eventually get my license back. The truck was set up by a fellow named Bill Farmer that was a professional chassis builder and it was mostly bullet proof. Love those Cameos. There is one hear abouts with the early Napco four wheel drive conversion.
    Really nice.

PM me if you are headed this way. I live about 5 minutes off the interstate. You will feel awful cramped in my one car garage after seeing yours.

Well the dash and cowl was starting to show some rust forming. So I went ahead and did the boring bondo work. Made my decision on what to weld up and keep. I've got to find 5 radio delete knobs and dash is done.

Got the master cylinder mounted and brake pedal made. Doing clutch after a few parts get here. Hopefully it will work out.
