  5. I thought that yard looked familiar. I used to go there years ago when I had property near there. I thought it was all gone by now. Owner was difficult to work with as I recall. Lots of good stuff used to be stored there. Maybe too rusty by now.

Couple more from Israel (by A. Freund and Sammy Adeto). That Willys ute is as far as I know unique to Israel, it was done by Kaiser-Willys who assembled Kaisers, Willys Jeeps and Studebakers in Haifa. Mopar cab was once a common sight over there and could be ex-NY.

  8. The last really old junkyard from the 40s/50s in my region. In my country all of them are gone now due to strict envronmental laws. This one miraculously survived until today though it is located in a rural area. I've been going there to look around since 1990.
The other day I passed there with my son and had to show him the place.
To my horror they have started to clean the place and 80 % is gone already. Just found out that the owner has died some years ago......

  10. There were also some US cars and Ford Vedettes, all gone except this Nash 600:

    It's a pity...... lost forever.

This is happening all over the world, every year more is lost. That's why it's so important to save whatever is worth saving while we can. Even if it's just some small parts and whatnot, the price and availability of parts in the future is at stake.

The '49 Mercury coupe that had it's own thread this week is exactly what I'm talking about, there is so much good usable stuff on that car and when people post that it's not even worth taking or not worth more than scrap value, it breaks my heart, especially from people who claim to be hot rodders and hobbyists.

This must be "hinter sieben Bergen wo die sieben Zwergen wohnen", I'm in Lower Austria and I doubt there's anything like that left here...

Collier Motors in Pikeville, NC? Years ago (probably early 90s) we went through there while on vacation. I couldn't believe it. An AMC dealership that closed leaving the cars there. Inside showroom was a brand new 1970 AMX, silver, 390 4spd as I remember. Cars were getting in pretty bad shape and that was 25 years or so ago.
    What a shame.[IMG]

With that rear bumper, it looks like it might have been raced at one time

Scott, I was thinking about that one too. My initial thought was that it might be a later thirties Studebaker...
