So in my efforts to select my tires for the'41 I have goofed up on the front. My overall goal for the car is to have it slightly nose high. with this in mind, I sought to get a set of tires that matched in overall diameter so I wasn't trying to overcome both a suspension and rubber rake. The front wheels are 4.5x16 (pretty much stock size). This tire is a 6.50-16 with an OD of 29.3". Anyone know off hand what a typical front tire size might be for these? Would a 6.00-16 be more appropriate or should i do 5.50-16"?
I think i have finally got this skirt dialed into the opening. Still much to do, but it’s got the pins in the top and latches in the side to hold it. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
6.00x16 sounds correct for original on these cars. ^^^ let me see if I can find something aside from what @alchemy and me remember. I have pulled 6.50s and 7.00s off of '41-'48 Fords. But they were someone's old hot rod not stock vehicles. LOL Googled it read specs on several different Ford site and they all say the same thing. 6.00x16 is original equipment.
