I believe the first complete production fiberglass bodied car was the Kaiser Darrin that preceded the Corvette.

Production years for the Corvette was 1953, for the Kaiser Darrin, it's 1954. I'm sure there were other limited production fiberglass bodied cars, either factory or aftermarket. When I first started going to Bremerton Raceways in the early 70's, there was a drag car powered by an early hemi with dual quads, and it all sat in a fiberglass, open bodied, sports type car. I have no idea what it was back then, and still don't, and I've asked a lot of older racers and members of the Handler's, the club that has operated Bremerton Raceway since 1959; since 1956 in a combined capacity with another group.
