Studes are cool. Larks, Hawks & GT Hawks. Sometime in the mid 60s i drove the base Lark with R3
engine & 4 speed.....just awesome. Dad baught a Lincoln from a dealer in Fremont Ohio that sold Lincoln, Mercury & yes Studes. They gave him the Avanti powered Lark as a loaner.....i laughed at it till i opened the hood & then took it for a R I D E......yupper, it R A N ! All nice stuf, thanks guys for the pics !

  6. .

    259 Stude. No blower.
When we used to show up at dragstrips around the midwest, we sometimes weren't noticed much until the first pass. Then we started drawing a small crowd wherever we went.
Blew away any of the Paxton powered Studes we came up against, and many many big engined BrandX cars.
    3100 lbs. full frame.
T-10 crashbox, chevy big valves, ported 259 heads, homemade ram intake manifold, and was the test mule for the very first HEI distributor for Studes.
Also tested the very first GM automatic transmission adapter for Studes . also designed in my garage in the 1980s.

The very first Stude, AMC, Packard HEI conversions were built in my garage in the 1980s.
This Lark tested the very first one.
It would light up a room and jump a one inch gap reliably.
We tried out all sorts of ideas on this Lark, and had a real blast showing it off.

    So much fun.

    WHY BE ORDINARY ?

Here's a shot of my old 59 Lark, 2dr. wagon. This and a couple other shots were used to...sell it. I put just over 93,000 miles on this car, before selling it to help pay for a 54 Stude, 2dr. wagon that will replace it.

Here's a shot of my 60 Lark, 2dr. wagon. Under construction.

It’s been a LONG time since I had it in the sun with the front end on it. More of that soon
