We’ll pains the body lead gray and the chassis and drivetrain red.
    Like the Bentley Thunderbolt.

@Drmalacarne, Fantastic Machine and like the others I much appreciate your sharing of this experience...can't wait to see that cutting into the picturesque Brazilian landscape...

I would say you have just about everything needed to make a copy of a Blastolene Special!!! Do a Google search for Blastolene images, or images of Blastolene Special. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Even without the Buick base and the awesome V12 I'd follow this build just for the fabrication. Great plan, component choices, eye for detail and proportion with talented execution.
When I read, back in the first pages, that you gave up on the idea for a Potvin blower as getting too involved, I thought with a laugh, "a little late for that".
looking forward to the drive atound the block video !

    Jack.
Next project for our shop will be a 8 in line Marmom Speedster in the Seagrave V12 style, but with a Potvin front mounted Blower!
I’ll open a build thread for the Marmom Speedster soon.

Don’t know if the old heart can take another one. This build has been so good so far!

I'll be watching for the Marmon build, too Dr.
Soon you'll need your own "room of giants" like Jay Leno. I loved his Fiat Botofogo Special video.

  16. Mate, what an amazing thread! Right up my alley as Im starting my own smaller speedster build. What I like about yours however it's keeping the car as a basically vintage build, things like the brakes... fantastic work and admittedly I was surprised you used them and not updated them. The details like keeping them however make for such a unique build. And like it needed to be more unique after running the v12. My first thought was it was a double 6 until I saw the 12 leads coming off of each cap. Very very cool
    Cheers,
    Josh

Hang on boys, it's gonna be great
Really cool with a blown Straight 8
Drive'n either one should be a real thrill
Think I'll pack up and head for Brazil.
    Thanks, Gui !

What kind of hood latching do you have planned? Something with old leather and brass involved?

Yes. We are planning to use thick leather straps and some brass too.
