How did you decide on the marque you now own.

  1. G'day, In January 1956 I was a new baby brought home from the hospital in a new 1956 Chevy pickup. My choice had been made. The 56 pickup turned into a 1958 Edsel which is the first car I drove at 3 years old. Dad left it running with me standing on the seat behind the wheel. I knew those push button switches on the steering wheel made the car move so I pushed one. I almost hit my dad and did hit the house. Been Chevrolet every since.

  2. I have no brand loyalty.
I've owned 87 cars (different makes), obviously liked something about each one of them (otherwise wouldn't have bought them).

  3. My dad has had many different cars from different brands ( seems he even had a couple Ford pickups) his first mopar that I remember was an O/T Plymouth road runner. After that he bought a 1934 Plymouth 2dr sedan, then came a 1959 dodge coronet and finally a ‘39 Plymouth convertible. All three of which he still has, drives the wheels off ‘em.

Dad was a Ford man until we took away his Escort away 4 years ago at 96. I started at a Chevy dealer after the service and have had Chevies since because that is where my connections were. They were all sweat equity cars until I bought my '03 pick-up in '06. Dream hot rod was the Dick Williams AMBR '27. Wound up with a Model A because it was affordable and had a title.

First few cars were euro trash: Renault Peugeot and Volvo. First American was a 65 Mustang. From there on it was always American from the big 3. And a few euro trash for commuting. Now it's Chevy, Olds and DeSoto.

:D Guess I caught the car bug from my Father. He did chauffer work for many years between WW1 and 2.Drove in 40 of the 50 states. Some of the cars he drove were Locomobiles,Packards,Lincolns and God alone knows what else. All classics then and now.Don`t really have any real favorites, except for Studebakers as that was my first car(53 Champion Starline coupe).
    Good luck.Have fun.Besafe.

I thought real hot rods were prewar Ford roadsters with postwar Detroit power
    Still think that

I sold my OT restored '66 Ford Fairlane convertible and wanted a turn key car this time rather than building another car. I looked around, test drove a few cars and couldn't find what I wanted in my budget so I bit the bullet and purchased my'35 Chevy tub as a builder project . Four (4) years later it was done and still going to this day (15yrs now).
I then decided that I need a closed car so next came my 46 Olds sedanette project, ten (10) years later and it's a little closer now than ever before.
Having retired in 2019 I felt that I needed to treat myself to a present after 40yrs in LEA so I started looking for a driver BBF (FE) powered early '60s Comet / Falcon or '66 Fairlane / Comet, eventually deciding on a '64 Fairlane. Having the '66 I had a soft spot for the FEs. I don't discriminate over marque however I've never owned a MOPAR; dad owned an old ' 64 push button torque flight Valiant with slant '6'. Loved it as a kid, a 1 owner car we bought from my aunt.

...and I still have one, think about him every time I drive it.
