Bugger, I've got to miss Cobo this year. I would have loved to have seen this.

So, is it going to be the blue of the wheels or the silver of the gas tank?
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

Well the car is not going to make Detroit. I didnt get the car to the painter soon enough and he got busy. I did get most of the chassis parts painted 20200224_192831.jpg

Late to the thread...that car looks like it could have come from that Indiana auction where you bought the Muntz/Curtis.

Man, I forgot how bad that was. I am not really sure why anyone would say "Hey I got this great idea, I have 68 2x3 metal strips...."

  21. Totally a million years too late to this thread but I pretty much gasped out loud at the first pic and just had to read it all the way through then I get to "8 days before Detroit." I already see you aren't going to make it, but from where I stand, A) the whole thing never woulda made it past "Oh crap" and B) if I had anything close to what you had just a few days ago in primer, my time line would be closer to "8 years until Detroit" lol. Amazing, just amazing. Fantastic save!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. I’ve had a similar color in my head for years now. My favorite color has always been metallic blue and I’ve never had a blue car. Next one will be though.

    Great save!

That thought crossed my mind as well...

I went to an auction once and bout a whole truckload of 3/4" melamine faced offcuts 11"x32", white both faces. Recollection says it was at least 15 years ago. I still have a big stack of them. I'm guessing someone didn't realize he just bought a whole lot of 2x3 metal strips at the auction! Gotta use them somehow.:D

That color is outstanding! great work resurrecting this one from the undead!
