It's not in Tulsa anymore "Doc"
Doc, how can that be??? let us know where it went.
If that car is indeed around as has been rumored for years, I personally believe the owner owes it to the hot rod world to let people see/learn from it. After all, possession or not - that will never be his car. That's Hilborn's car and always will be. That said, I've heard from just as many credible people that the car doesn't exist and the Tulsa rumors are just that - rumors...
Doc is "connected" he knows something..........green T and all. I think it is time to talk to the parties involved and let the cat outta the bag.
Not this again.... Have at it boys.... The jury is still out on this one for me. Part of me says that if it is still around, in Tulsa or not, the current owner has a cultural responsibility to let it be seen. On the other hand I subscribe to the ancient hot rod creedo, that dictates people do what they want to their cars. Orginal owner/builder or not. Either way...I hope it is still around, and that it will be preserved and maybe eventually seen again by the masses. From the sound of the above posts it seems as though the Oklahoma Conglomerate might know of some upcoming events...
With the passage of time, had any new news surfaced about the existence and location of this national hot rod treasure? Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
If you owned the Hilborn car, and could somehow restore it without anyone knowing, were would you debut the car? Bob
