Do you already have a "55" tab for the historic plate? I'm being a good boy and not skipping ahead!

  6. Next up was disassembling the car to head to Northwest legend Jon Byers & crew for paint.

  7. While the body was off we could focus on getting the engine & drive trans all sorted out & ready to go. Also get all the parts ready for plating & other coatings.

  8. Just came across this thread today. Thank you so much for taking the time to post such amazing stuff. Like others have said, the workmanship is clearly off the charts, but is still inspiring to those of us without the skills to pull of a build like this. The out of the box thinking in design, problem solution and execution is applicable no matter the skill level. Even the stuff like prep and finish of parts like the engine above and layout/placement of wiring/plumbing, etc. that most all of us can do....inspiring stuff for us "regular" guys to take the time to think about and incorporate into our own builds. Thank you!!

You've obviously forgotten more things automotive than I will ever know but you might want to reconsider how you are hanging that flathead on the engine stand. JMO Parts pile 1.JPG

Absolutely impressed! I'm not a bodyman and my fab skills are definitely lacking, but I love to learn. Everything I see is outstanding, not just the work but the ideas that make it happen. Thank you for posting. I don't pay attention to much what's at shows or in the media, have not seen the finished product, but look forward to updates and how it all comes together. Everything I've seen looks like it should have been Ford's idea.

  18. My go to Engine builder (now retired :() Rich Eims built the 330 CI Y-block for the car. We used a 292 block with an offset ground 312 crank & turned down mains to fit into the 292 block. Custom Forged pistons & H-beam rods from Mummert. Ported & worked over a set of ECZ-G heads. Schneider Cam. Smoothed Edelbrock intake with a pair of Carter WCFBs from a 331 Crystler.

We wanted it to look like something experimental by using the WCFBs like @jimmy six

  22. No idea. We never dyno'd it. We just ran it on the stand the tune it & break in the cam & stuff.

From minor experience and seeing the one Ted Eaton did for Karol Miller; 1 hp per cubic inch makes Y guys real happy. By what’s in it I’d think more in this one... Looks great.

This thing really does look like a ford big-wig slapped a picture of a nomad on a designers desk and said"make me a ford one of these", back in 55.

  27. Engine was tore back down & sent to Jon for some paint. Sent out a truck load of parts to Chrome & got busy polishing hardware while the car was getting the treatment from Byers.

Well not much to say that hasn't already been said a few times, the attention to detail, the craftsmanship, the pure beauty of this remarkable car is just stunning. Anyone would be proud to own this fine example of the customizing art-anyone!! With that said I only have one thing that I personally wish was different. It would be nice if the styling was unique to Ford instead of being unique to Chevrolet. I also don't have a clue how that could have been done, I am just not visionary enough to see a way to pull that off. But the car, well I guess it's all been said already. Great car!!

I guess I don't follow??? All the parts to make it what it is are FORD.
