  3. Crafty B did mine. http://www.crafty-b.com/index.php

I think his detail is better than anything posted above. He offers many styles/finishes & most are under $300.

His detail is good but Frank's is better finished and is an exact copy of the original Halibrand......

  5. There's no denying the quality of Frank's caps. If you're hunting a perfect reproduction, that is definately the way to go. Everything he does is amazing.

If you're hunting cool with lots of character Crafty B can hook you up.

Here are some photos of an original Enots cap made in Birmingham, England from a 1954 Ferrari Monza - is this where the name 'Monza cap' came from?

To open it you, put your finger underneath the latch tab and push upward on it.

Beat me to it. Crafty B is good people too!

If it's an exact duplicate of the original, than that might not be the best choice though.

I've got one from Frank..great piece and he makes them in 2 sizes. He'll also install a filler tube as well for your hose to attach to.

They would be George Shilala's caps..........he sold the tooling to schroedersteering.com and Steve Moal.

Guys, on this note here are some shots of an original George Shilala cap (the guy who started this style I believe when shop foreman for Frank Kurtis and who only passed away last year aged 95 )
This has the original Shilala Speed Supply cast into it and is on my Shilala Sprint Car
If any one wants more details ,PM me at [email protected]

These gas caps are pretty cool! I'm building a tribute Javelin Trans AM car and I have been looking for this duel cap, does anyone know anything about them? They were used from 1967 thru 1970 on various Trans Am Cars.

I know this is an old thread, but the caps on the Trans-Am racer of the day look to be modified versions of the duel Joe Hunt cap that was used on Indy cars in the 50's and early 60's. Not to be mistaken for the single cap used on some cars and also used on dry sump tanks. They were being reproduced at one time by someone in SoCal.

I'm currently in the process of completing our first batch of LeMans gas caps. They will be available at nystromperformance.com in two weeks. Check 'em out. They've been a lot of fun to make. 20200112_144009.jpg

I got to see one in person today, and it is extraordinary! Now I need to figure out how to use one on my hot rod. Nice work, Cam!

    Hello Jim KK500

Are you still fabricating the Halibrand style filler caps?

    Regards

  25. I received one of the first of the new Lemans style gas caps - really a nicely done product - thank you!
