Hey, I know Henry Ford and the like had race cars earlier than this, but I wanted to share this picture of my grandfather, Ernest Taylor. Ernest And Edith First Wife Taylor by CaptainComet posted Feb 22, 2020 at 4:30 PM This is a family photo that was recently sent to me. The more I looked at it, the more it looks to me like he built this three wheeler himself. He was a tool and die maker, along with being a cattle farmer. I know this at least pre-1927, because that is his first wife with him. I wanted other folks here to take a look and see if you see some of the same details I spotted. Maybe someone here can ID stuff I can't. I have had a lot of fun looking at it. Doesn't he just look proud?
I was thinking it was a motorcycle motor. One thing that jumps out at me is the wooden wheel on the back and the wires on the front.
Interesting photo of that machine. I am not so certain that rear wheel has wooden spokes. They could be tubular metal spokes. Ray
