Hey, I know Henry Ford and the like had race cars earlier than this, but I wanted to share this picture of my grandfather, Ernest Taylor.

This is a family photo that was recently sent to me. The more I looked at it, the more it looks to me like he built this three wheeler himself. He was a tool and die maker, along with being a cattle farmer. I know this at least pre-1927, because that is his first wife with him. I wanted other folks here to take a look and see if you see some of the same details I spotted. Maybe someone here can ID stuff I can't. I have had a lot of fun looking at it.

Doesn't he just look proud? ;)

Blew it up a bit, that was a time when many men were tinkerers and built their own rides. HRP

He could be the original back seat driver too. Very cool!

I was thinking it was a motorcycle motor.
One thing that jumps out at me is the wooden wheel on the back and the wires on the front.

Interesting photo of that machine. I am not so certain that rear wheel has wooden spokes. They could be tubular metal spokes.

She looks happy ... probably mad at how much he spent building it!

People always looked mad in old pictures. Cool ride.

No I think it’s just married people who look unhappy in old pictures?

Oh, I don't know, it's not just old pics...I think "unhappy wife" photos transcend time:(
