Hello,
When we were doing our own photography, developing and enlarging photos, there was this tricky solution for sale at some specialty photo shops. It was to be opened in the dark room and then coated on what ever you wanted. After the solution dried, the item was placed under the enlarger lens. The negative posted a clear image onto the object on the board below. I experimented with a clear pine board and printed a driftwood beach wave shot. It came out rather clear and nice. I mounted it on a redwood slat box frame and had it hanging in my darkroom for a while.

I took a photo of my 40 Ford Sedan Delivery and printed it on a fairly light grey sandstone rock for a super clear image. It got used a lot as a paperweight and the image eventually scratched off. My final experiment was transposing an image onto a clear dinner plate to see if it would look like those old weeping willow blue plates. It looked better, if anyone was into those things. At the time, no one wanted a photo of their hot rod on a clear dinner plate. It was too odd.

The advantage of this solution was that it accepted any good negative as if it were photographic paper, only it was on something other than paper. I did give away another sample of a hot rod on a light redwood piece of wood. The guy said, "Uhhh, thanks" with a puzzled look. So much for something different.

Actually, my wife said no to blasting a beach scene image on the wall of the darkroom's white surfaces. It would have worked, by turning the enlarger lens head, on its side. Also, using a brush technique of the developing solutions on the surface with a catch towel below. The smooth slightly textured walls would have created a really odd image. But, it would have been one of a kind.

Those sound like some fascinating imaging techniques. The wall/ beach scene wouldn't been great. Should've done it anyway. Ha. I was into photography at one time and got as far as developing 35mm film and making slides. I was "between jobs"and wanted to do it as a career but didn't have the capital. Expensive hobby.
Funny about " Uh, thanks." I would have said "Hey, you don't have to take it."
That's a 2000 First Edition Hot Wheels. Hung it inverted over the mold in a fixture. Thread around axles and around pencils to adjust it with the tire barely breaking the surface. The coupes looked even better. The lens effect gives the cars the distorted car-art look.

@rusty rocket...why don't you post a pic of your Id' L' Do logo you Sharpied onto your Cowl...I'd like to see a detail shot of that...I like it...and yes it's Art...

I often think when crediting Hambers such as Builders and Photographers...you are all essentially Artists with a medium whether it be Metal, Fiberglass or Film it's all Art...

I think most of you if you got some Pencil and Paper you might be surprised what you come up with...

Thanks, I could only find that he was born 1918 and died 2001. But I couldn't find any more Hot Rod art that he did. Here's a few more from my book.
