Projects Young guys 27 T roadster

My son and his friend have started a project that I was never going to get to they are both 19 years old and have been working on this for a week in the evenings it is a 27 T with a model A bed that's been shortened 1940 flathead let's see how far they get . There's some fun goin on there!

 

Depending on how tall them youngsters are they may want to add some leg room in the form of extra body length behind the doors.

I'm 5-10 and I added 4" behind the doors of my RPU

 

Neat treatment with the 28/28 RPU flat back on the cab too.

Looks to me like the car just needs to be assembled now what with that fancy center crossmember already sorted out!

Gonna have a good rake to it from what I can see too.

Have they tried sitting in it yet.
It’s going to be cramped.

 

I'd gladly donate any parts they would need that I have.built my first hotrod at 20.was the best times

No response to that suggestion (or question ) so far.
I posted that earlier and asked if they’ve tried sitting in it so

 

of course it’s a T how would it not be lol

and there’s probably not a reply because they are doing something other than cruising the hamb

their young they’ll be fine. I’m sure you got yourself into plenty of weird positions in a small back seat when you were young that you couldn’t now lol

 

I just didn't see a reason to respond of course it's tight no they won't be driving xcounrty in it but they don't need negative input right at the start of this project. there smart boys and will figure it out. life happens and they can decide if they fit or not

 

What gives you the impression that we ,myself or anyone else who mentioned stretching the body for some extra leg room was being negative?

Excuse me (us) for speaking from experience and offering a little help or encouragement.


Or maybe a little bit of something to think about.

It’s easier to make changes in the beginning rather than later on in the build.

A T can be comfortable enough to drive without your knees by your elbows with a little bit of thought and a couple of modifications.
A bit of leg and foot room is nice.

In case you missed it I’m just finishing my 26 RPU.

If that’s going to be your attitude then you and the boys are on your own.

 

How about we just let them enjoy the car and try not to force our ideas of what needs to be done to the car, I understand you have experience with the body size but as long as there’s a smile on there face when there in it that’s all that matters
