I don't know if my memory stretches back that far, but my dad had his baby blue 56 F-100 with Shelby 5 spoke hub caps, at one of the KKOA shows in Holland around that time.

  2. The Custom Car Revival is kind of like the early KKOA meets. If you like early style customs you would like it.

  6. Thanks Dave, I have no idea who the other guys are. Were you and Dad Dave there?

No I wasn’t at the show. My Mom and Dad were there in Dads 48 Ford sedan, The Gateway Ford Mercury Club went down together with a big group. I have lots of pictures and video from the show though.

  8. Thanks Mark, I recall seeing these cars in the R&C when they would actually report on cool shows.

I'm not sure that I have seen a Merc with '55 Chevy bezels and parking lights. Thanks for posting the pics.

  19. I know it showed up several years ago and was for sale for awhile in the condition it was in in that photo.

After that, I have no idea what happened with it or where it went.....

  20. Posted in 2012 by @frank spittle (who actually owned that car for a while):
"I talked to Dave Stuckey today and he has not talked to the owner of "The Kandy Kart" since we last talked nearly 2 years ago. He has not talked to anyone else about it and does not know if the restoration has been finished. The car had a Chevy engine in it and when Dave told the owner he implanted a 413 Chrysler in it when he built it the owner disputed that but finally accepted that as the truth and replaced the Chevy with a 413. Dave told me he used 1960 Olds bumpers, a '59 Chevy dash and countless other modifications in addition to the Chrysler implant in an effort to gain as many points as possible in the Radical Custom class."

And again @frank spittle in 2014:
"I talked with Dave today and he tells me he has talked with a neighbor of the guy who is restoring the "Kandy Kart" '58 Chevy (the owner wants to remain anonymous) and it is nearing completion. I feel like he is making a serious mistake not consulting with Dave on the restoration."

I know where it is and who owns it but I will not reveal it as he wants to remain anonymous , yes it is being worked on. I have seen it within the last few months

This cool '57 was owned by Courtney Church like @a990hemi mentioned. It was W.E.H.T. #179. A lot of information came up as we discussed it. Sadly in the discussion, we found out that Mr. Church passed away in 2017.
Here's a link to the post if you guys want to read up on Courtney's "Lost in the 50s" Chevy. E

We also covered this nifty four door Merc. It was W.E.H.T. #160. It was owned by a guy named Sam from upstate New York. We never did find out his last name or what town in New York he was from, but he did attend many KKOA events over the years including being a regular at Sled Scene East. As I've mentioned way too many times, I like four doors. I would love to find an old survivor like Sam's to cruise around in. Great body mods and no chop keep it in the mild custom family, but a chop would have been over the top.
Here's a link to the discussion in case anyone wants to read up on it. E

I went looking for my photos of 88 Lead Sled Spectacular so I could add them to this thread. I didn't find them but this one was lost and missing from the others so here it is.
