  5. I had this amazing opportunity to make a custom bead rolled panel for renowned Hot Rod artist Johnny Jalopy! I am very thankful to have received this honor. This is the panel that I will be shipping him on Monday it is made out of aluminum and polished to a high shine with Purple Metal Polish. Thank you for all the likes last week they are very much appreciated! Have a Great Day! @Hoboshotrods

    Hello,

The name Chrisman is well known in the So Cal circles. The family has roots back to the very early hot rod building and racing days. We always thought that Jack Chrisman was the primary driver of the original Sidewinder from Paul Nicolini and Joe Mailliard. There have been other drivers over the years, but Jack Chrisman put the Sidewinder on the drag racing map.

Ed Losinski has also a well know history in West Coast drag racing. Together, they had an unusual full bodied streamlined FED that gave the top racers fits in the eliminations. It must have been something to drive the Ed Losinski FED version, as one is sitting over the rear axle, with a little roll bar for some protection. Then to jump into the low slung seating in front of a big Hemi looking at the approaching drag strip, flying by with each run. Talk about the need for depth perception and handling skills. It would be like sitting at the dinner table or laying down on a recliner… the depth perception had to be excellent.

Two of the favorites that I filmed at Lions from the 1959-60 era, with Jack Chrisman driving both.

Time Traveler, that coupe in the upper right has a real Lance Sorchik vibe. I mean that as a compliment. Very cool.

  14. Lance is one of my art heroes. Jersey Suede is my all time favorite 34 - wicked!

...Hamber @rusty rocket is in the final stages of completing his Vintage Inspired Racer...paint is still to be added but he is giving thought to an early flame and his Dad envisioned a Comet in the mid 40s Fender Detail...

This Inspiration is but one of the latest of several I have done...not sure this will make the cut but when I initially finished this I felt almost transported back to 1954...:)

    Happy Art Friday Hambers...;)

  22. While I have the old way back machine out. Here's a couple sketches from high school art class 1969. The teacher ask us to pair up as couples. Then to do a caricature drawing of each other. I drew Kari Funk, and she drew me. I asked her if I could keep hers too. It's on my garage art wall. 20200220_173013.jpeg 20200220_174037.jpeg 20200220_172907.jpeg
