Yes!!! And when cars had actual names, Bel Air, Galaxie, Valiant. Now there just a hodgepodge of meaningless letters and or numbers.

My Mom's pink & black '55 Ford convert. sounded more "jet-age" as a Sunliner

I´ve got 710-15 Goodyear Power Cushion bias plys on my 65 Riviera, it has the famous Switch Pitch Turbo Hydramatic 400 too. The engine is a Wildcat 465, which is way more impressive than the Thunderbird 312 in the 34 or the Blueflame 235 in the 55 Chevy.

Some interesting illustrations from the 1952 edition of MOTORS manual showing hill holder and anti percolating unit. Mack trucks had some interesting names such as Econodyne and Thermodyne. The illustration for the Buick valve in head Dynaflash Fireball Eight is great art as well. The very cool shots of Harley Earl and the Firebird's from 1954 and 1956, the jet age had a big influence!

Oil companies have always touted their gas additive packages as something new and miraculous and often named them with mysterious initials. Back in the day Shell's was called "TCP" which was universally known as Tom Cat Piss.

Vintage car commercial videos are filled with automotive buzzwords, catchphrases, taglines and other fancy nomenclature.

    For 1955 !!!
    Only Chevrolet has...
    Quadra-poise suspension!
    And...
    Level-flight stopping!
