Thats asking a lot Marty! :D
I work way too slow, but stranger things have happened.
If it works out, we would love to pit by you.
I saw it's a 2 day deal this year, so that's pretty enticing!

Rechopped the door top for the 10th or 20th time. Finally settled on a profile that is cohesive with the driprail.

Also got the bear jaw or claw??? latch working on the drivers side. Sure shuts easy compared to the originals I've closed in the past. First time a door has latched shut on this body in a very very long time.

My passenger door looks like your before pic, and I have noticed the same on many of the real Henry 34's. Had/has to be a factory thing.

Working on getting the inner door structure chopped and fit to the skin. These doors are pretty light!

New transmission setup for the coupe! We set the car up with a turbo 400 that was going to be a full manual reverse valve body deal. Now it just got a whole lot cooler.

    Clutch Turbo 400!!!

What's even better is the entire setup used to be in my dads (lytles garage on here) Blown Hell 33 willys AA/GS car. We got the original fairbanks trans thats rebuilt , Mcleod dual disk clutch and scattershield that's out of the willys. Plus a brand spankin' new updated clutch turbo trans. Now we're going to have to cram a clutch pedal in it somewhere. I can't wait to dump the clutch in this sum bitch!

I never seen those pic's, Thanks!
You need to sell me that '57 150 that's stashed away so you could buy yourself a decent set of wheels for this project!

Not much progress to report. In a stroke of wisdom, I threw away about 11" of the inner door top structure last year. So I spent some time remaking those pieces. The inner channel had too small of depth to bend it up on the brake, so I had to do that by hand.

    IMG_0962.JPG

Here is the inner channel portion mocked up in the door. Lot of work for something no person will ever look at.

    IMG_0963.JPG

Here is the outer-inner portion I made with the top hinge delete mocked up. It will get its final trim once its all welded up.

    IMG_0964.JPG

I spent about 2 mins on the shrinker stretcher to make the backside of the side window opening. It will come out a lot cleaner than trying to weld up 12 pie cuts.

I think it is that time spent on things people will never see or notice that make a good build ( car ) a great one that will last. Keep up the good work Sam!

    Hay Sam,
Just took a look at the build site again after a few months. Got to say how proud of you and Chris. Great work. I called Kudo to tell him and he said he'd already been following it . If you do have it ready for Toodle Kenny and I talked about coming. Been working on our '56 Chev... Just a Street Rod,

    Your friends in Seattle

Small update on the coupe... ITS NOT DEAD!

As with any long term project, life and other interests always seem to get in the way.

I just finished up some upper door tins/upper door jamb jobbies. These babies curve every which way but loose. They look pretty straight forward and simple, but they were made in 2 pieces and follow the arc of the driprail and have a arc that goes linear from front to back.

I wanted these to close off being able to see inside the car through the door jamb. Plus they strengthen the body up real good.
