I am kinda new to the area and in need of a good machine shop that works on flatheads. I live near Raleigh, but don't mind traveling to deal with a good shop. What are your suggestions?

There are several flathead Ford vintage racing associations in that area. While they are not racing right now, they will be in a few months. There are over a hundred vintage hardtops involved there. With a small amount of detective work I am sure you can find out where they get their machine work done. Almost any modern NASCAR shop will have a few old timers still involved. Try talking to them.
If you want to travel as far as Connecticut, I can recommend a shop.
