Hey again folks. I’m getting ready to set the motor/trans combo into my 62 falcon so I can get the mounts welded in place. As I was getting ready I attempted to bolt my mount to my block I realized that the bolts which came with the mount were too small. I got online and searched and everything I read stated it should be a 7/16 course thread bolt. So off to hardware store. Bought (4) 7/16 bolts. Got home and no go. Too small. So back to hardware store again. This time I picked up (4) each of 1/2” as well as 9/16” bolts. Got home and STILL no go. The closest is the 1/2”. I can get about 1 1/2 turns before it stops. I don’t want to risk messing the threads up and was hoping maybe someone knew something I didn’t. I pulled the block code and it’s a 1972 block. D20E -AB is the code. I’m at a loss. Thanks in advance.

Fine thread! At least that's what I always have to deal with!
