The weather has been so mild I’ve been running this heap around for parts and supplies, still needs a bunch of everything but it’s still fun to drive even with no heat! it scrapes the chin pulling in and out of the parts store lot so it must sit just right. 9F653390-9C1A-4447-950C-2607037A03B4.jpeg

On the 40? That’s just the factory roof insert seam. The sd body has a full length welded steel roof insert, probably too large of a body to stamp out of one piece of steel.

    Haha no kidding it could!

Spent a few nights and weekends and we put together a different chassis with extra parts and leftovers hanging around the shop, things happen faster when you’re not doing them under the car.

Side will get an aluminum ring with a rolled outer edge to improve the clamping area and for a more finished appearance.

Torque tube was dang near resting on the curtain pan on Romeos roadster, the pan and body crossmembers had some minor rot anyhow so we pulled it and installed new crossmembers, a flat panel, ditched the bustle, and moved the riser back a couple inches. We were able to save an old toe board that fits the cars personality, made a floor board from oak ply and gave it a paint job to match, with some real road dirt and a few hundred footprints on it, it should fit right in.

I love how you do things.. 100% solid work with no messing about. Its all neat, its all functional and its all in keeping with the style of old survivor hot rods, maintaining and improving things without going to far. Love it ..

On the axle drop , what happening at the other end ? Is the axle end secured some way perhaps in a similar fixture to the end being dropped ..?

Does the axle remain the same width between kingpins?

Yes there’s a carriage that bolts through the perch boss to limit narrowing and a bottom stop to set the kpi angle.

We do have some control over the narrowing but Even with our stop set all the way out we still lose some width, just the nature of the beast. In this case the jig was set up to allow the axle to narrow as much as possible because it’s going under a full fendered car.

Thanks for the crash course update

Years back you'd posted a cadillac powered T roadster you and a pal built...I've always wondered what became of that cool T?
