Thank You. You have a very cool coupe coming together. That potvin hemi is boner material! The 134 coupe is very neat, and i'm glad it is fixed and back out there racing.

It's a lot simpler, and lighter. The tires are the suspension and you tune it with them.

My weekend plan was to get the passenger side door on, chopped and matched to the drivers side. I spent most of Saturday rebuilding the b pillar, getting them ready for the hinges.

I started sorting out hinges and figured out I was missing a lower body side 4dr hinge. So I spent a couple hours searching in every nook and cranny thinking I misplaced it.

I finally gave up the search and just decided to pull the one off the drivers side and make a jig to make one. I machined out a piece of solid round stock and cut a piece of 1/4" plate and had the hinge. Bolted it on the body and put the door pins in and the door closed right on the money.

Any new pics on the build? Also I am still curious where the Hyder & McCloud coupe is today. I know it traveled from the West Coast to Asheville N.C. over 30 years ago with Hyder's move and I had a call from Hyder's son it was for sale but I have not heard anything about it since. Anyone who can shed some light?

    Verde742,

The top hinge would have to be brought rearward, to line up over the pivot point of lower two hinges

    Hi Chris,
We were over in Levenworth over the weekend. I thought of dropping by, but things didn't workout. How's the boys doing. Kudo & I've been looking for updates on your build, but it's been a while without any photos?

OMG it's still happ'n, the worship of the '33/'34. Henry would have never guessed. Awsome job guys, these are the coolest, nastiest drag machines ever devised. You gotta have gonads the size of coconuts to mount and ride these babies.
Absolutely can not wait to witness the completion and running of this Beast.

I'm going to drag this thread back from the dead. After a long "storage" period, dad and I are back on the coupe! Here's to hoping we can stay on it pretty regular and finally get this thing making some noise.

That is a wicked looking coupe!

There is another thread going that is talking about intimidating hot rods. This needs to be posted there - it is intimidating:mad:!

Fixing, straightening and making the passenger door fit in its hole.

Repairing the lower inner panel and tying both jams together again, getting rid of the ol' jiggly wiggly mess it has been.

The door bottoms swooped out quite a bit, which I have seen on some 33-34's. It's not really a big deal, but I wanted to try and improve it.

I pie cut the jamb and tweaked it as far a I could before it would peak the outer skin. Looks way better now.
