OK, not a rant and penned tongue in cheek. Terms, expressions adopted and used over and over.

"Barn find". Has been punted around for awhile and truly more barns still around than I thought. But it has to be coveted, it was in a barn. My mom used to say were you born in the barn, close the door. Wouldn't she know?

I'm the new "Caretaker": screw that. It's mine and I'm using it up, not saving it for someone else. This isn't a museum and I'm having fun with it.

"At the end of the day". Used way too much to try to summarize comment or statement.

When talking to someone and they agree and repond.
    "Oh, for sure".

We are all a bunch of parrots in mimicry.

Just a few that are annoying me at the moment. I'm sure the are many more. ;)

  2. When the seller says, "Easy fix". If it were such an easy fix, why didn't you fix it before you tried to sell it?!......:mad:

"Shit for brains" refers to the new dumb guy whose name I don't know (my fathers favorite quote)

"With that being said"........my bosses favorite quote in every speech, hearing that twenty times a day is annoying

Everyone is 'repurposing' around here lately, and damn proud of themselves when they do. Hell I haven't bought anything new in my entire life, except food, and if someone offers me half their burger I'll take it.

  11. "Engine has a BIG cam in it"...........So, just how big is it, like 8 feet long?!:D

  12. "You know what I mean?" I really love my brother. But in the last few years he started using that phrase at the end of just about every sentence. I must admit I have started to say very clearly "Yes I know what you mean".

Edit: my g/f's son's wife's mother starts nearly every sentence with "I was going to say......". I have not slapped her......yet

And it's "Ready to restore". What did it take to get it ready, parking it outside for 20 years?

I don’t have a problem with the term caretaker. If you are the owner of a car that someone else built and you leave the car basically the way the original builder had built it, I think the term caretaker is appropriate. If you take the original builders car and make major changes to it then yes, it is now your car and you are no longer a caretaker. I happen to be the caretaker of my dad’s car. He built it with his vision and it remains basically the way he designed it with just a few minor changes made by me to make it more driveable. And I don’t baby the car like it is a destined to go in a museum. It has rock chips and road rash and I have fun with it. But I always refer to the car as his and I always will. For me it is a matter of respect.

The current (and shorter) version of that one has been replaced with "nome say'n".
Really tired of hearing that AFTER EVERY F#@king SENTENCE

    I’ve heard that one.
I’m building a hot rod and spent countless hours on body and paint and detail work, along with a pretty substantial amount of money for chrome.

    But it’s still a rat rod :confused::mad:

Oh well they have no clue :D

"Come here" as the child runs from it's parent.

  27. "It is what it is" o_O Why? Because you're too stupid or lazy to do anything about it? Patina..... do we find words just because we've become too lazy to say that it has the original paint and a bunch of it is coming off and it has some rust in it?
