I am hoping to purchase a '29 Ford Closed Cab Pickup.
I will need it hauled from El Paso, TX. to
    Phoenix, AZ

The only problem with that trip is that it is off the path of any of the normal HAMB haulers. Simply meaning that you are going to have to compensate them for a lot of unloaded miles unless they actually have a run to drop one near El Paso.
It's a 430 mile run from Phoenix which is doable if you were to rent a trailer and bomb down there on one day, load the truck and drive back the second.
One thing you might do is catch Chip Quinn at Got Louvers and see if he knows anyone who would do the haul. He seems to know the who's who in the car scene in that area.
Or Squirrel on here may know someone who can get it to Tucson from El Paso. Saving you that part of the trip.

I live close to El Paso. I have a shop there so I go there often to work on my car. Don't know how big a hurry but I'm going to Phoenix in March for the Scottsdale show. Usually go few days early. Be glad to help. PM me or call 602 319-0034 Ron

I flew up, rented a Uhaul van and trailer and drove back to LA from Oregon. Worked fine although not much cheaper than a professional hauler. my39-La-Pine-tlr-1.jpg

Glad it worked out. Seems like a lot of car for that trailer.

  7. I got good service and results from Uship. They are a broker that a bunch of independent owner/operators use. You go to their site, register and fill in your info, then sit back as a dozen or more quotes fill your inbox. There's a review system that rates the individual companies. I saw some of them bid against themselves and come back with lower quotes when it got closer to departure time.
Phoenix and El Paso are both spots on I-10, which is the main east-west, cross country interstate. A somewhat central run like this one is candy to an outfit with an open slot on their multi-car trailer. That can mean a lower than average fee is still extra gravy to a motivated operator.

The trailer worked fine, the van was a little light on power but made it over the grapevine ok.
