Always loved the Art Deco vehicles. Awesome project. Looks like you've got it under control.

  3. I just checked out your blog and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all are doing a fantastic job-especially with the gauges! They went from solid rust to real gauges again.

  4. Thanks so much Mike.

  5. Over the past six months, the Stewart Warner gauges on the Texaco tanker have been repaired and restored. New fish plates have been manufactured and secured to the chassis rails using hot rivets. The fabrication work on the cab and tank has been completed and both structures have been blasted and epoxy primed. New windshield frames have been formed, the chassis painted and the front end reassembled. Here are a handful of photos from the website https://texacotankerproject.com/blog/

Thanks for posting the photos of your progress. Not everyone is into the other social media stuff, a half year is a long time between HAMB postings. Looks great! Bob

I have been watching this thread about your Diamond T TEXACO tanker, truly amazing how all of this restoration, is making great progress. Not that you need another project, but if you get in touch with Dave Giesler of the "Pioneer Auto Museum " out in Murdo South Dakota, they still have this great Diamond T, Utility/Rescue rig that would make the perfect stable mate, to the very cool tanker you and your crew are restoring. Granted, even if its for sale, the logistical nightmare of the shipping charges alone would make this monetarily, highly questionable.

All of that being said, since the pandemic has greatly decreased the amount of travel along Interstate-90 out to where Murdo South Dakota is, you never know if you don't ask, and I would bet that Dave would part with it since the seasonal cash flow has greatly decreased. Fair warning, Dave, who is a great guy, always thinks his possession's are worth a lot more than they truly are. American Pickers found that out when they purchased the Henderson powered 4 wheel cycle car/belly tanker from him, that they flipped and sold to Dale Walksler who recently passed away.

Just a thought, something to ponder. Keep up the brilliant high quality work that you have accomplished.
    Dennis.
