Does anyone recognize where this bit may have come from on a 54ish Single barrel Rochester B? It was in my basket of the solvent can when I took my pieces out and cannot, for the life of me, figure out where it lives. I can’t find it on the exploded view from the carburetor kit. It’s internally threaded. 11/32 outside diameter. I can’t even find any parts that fit those internal threads. There is an outside possibility it could be a part from the last carb I rebuilt but I’m next to positive it isn’t. The last thing I rebuilt was a Cadillac Carter AFB from the mid 60s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Any friends hanging out around your carb bench ? Back in the '60s, we had a guy at the shop that would add a steel ball & 2 extra screws to your basket while you went to lunch ...
Luckily no. If I found someone doing stuff like that they might get gelded Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Four hrs and no smart answers about float bearing or some such oddity. I would assemble carb, dry run with out gaskets and see how things add up..
I've been inside a few B's, never saw that piece of brass. Toss it or stash it in your UFO ( unidentified found object ) jar.
That’s the route I took. I guess I’ll bolt it up this afternoon and see if it flies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just rebuilt a Rochester model B last week but I don’t recognize that part. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
