I've had my eye out for a machinists chair for a while when this one turned up on a sale site... had to grab it, has recently been recovered but the rest is natural... it's going to give my old legs a rest in the shop... 20200205_161819.jpeg

wife called from the road, "there is a mid century dining room table on the side of the road for free, want to look at it?"
I was in the truck and on my way before you could say Jack Robinson.
The top was rough, like tortured rough.
The legs were wobbly, and somebody had tried to stabilize it by crudely adding metal brackets and a 1x4 nailed with ring shanks.
But I could see the Teak veneer on top was not damaged too badly and the rest was in pretty good shape, just a few stripped screw holes.
I fixed the stripped holes, drilling them out, gluing dowels in and redrilling.
I refinished the top by sanding, staining and wipe on poly.
Unfortunately it's too big for the house so we took it down to the wife's space at one of the local antique malls with a hefty price tag to use as an anchor, kinda hoping it won't sell. ;)

  13. My new bride and I am finishing a new living room and looking for a bright colored Malm or Preway Fireplace like these below. If anybody has links or sources it would be appreciated. They do make them new but in boring neutral colors.

  14. This is ours, it looks good at 20 feet, but not sound enough to use in a house. 87A22BF5-187D-4F25-9883-57D9021B0E7F.jpeg

I know of a orange one in a scrapyard I frequent. Isn't rusty, just didn't match someone's new decor. Had my eye on it for a while. I'll check it out for you when it isn't -5f outside.
