Can anyone tell me What rearend can be used on a 33 Plymouth deluxe So I can get away from the key way and the drum hub style Or any info on if u can swap maybe the axels to go reg drums
why do you want to change ? I've got a 50 and drilled out the drums and put studs on and now running American Torq Thrust
A 1973-1976 Mopar A Body {Duster-Dart} 8 1/4 rear. 4 1/2 bolt pattern and supposedly the right width. Make sure it's not the little 7 1/4.
My first car was a 1968 Cougar XR7, 302-2bbl and a C4 auto. It had the 8 inch rearend. I went through 6 or 7 pumpkins, So in my book I will never use an 8 inch under anything!
There is a conversion to model A drums on ply33.com if you want to keep it original. You just need the puller tool to pull them off. The real trick is to know how to adjust early brakes. Apparently changing to the later 60’s mopar 8 3/4 gets you the drums and a better ratio for highway driving Also you can also go to rear hand brake. O yeah and on the mopar rear you can use the factory leaf perches. It is literally bolt in.
