After almost 2 years designing and building the Bergen Merc it goes out in public for the first time and gets the 2020 Suede Palace BEST CUSTOM award!! So honored.
It’s been great working on renderings with Kevan Sledge on the most accurate traditional car that would have been built in 1948 when sky high noses and straight posts ruled. They were classy and tough looking at the same time.
Kevan then took our renderings and did his metal magic. His work is so flawless I wanted it displayed without paint. It’s an honor to call him and his wife a friend.
The car will now go back to Kevans for the final touches like shortened hood trim, relocating the license plate and a few other little details.
And a huge thanks to Axel for the award and putting on a great show at the Suede Palace. Great cars, great people, great bands and just an all around great time. And the car club seen out west is like none I’ve ever seen.
Here’s a few pics from the show and if you’d like to see some of the build it’s on Instagram #bergenmerc

Kevan and myself. What a great trip it was!!

As of right now it looks like Kevan is bringing it to the Autorama. Stop by and say hey.

Scolling through everyone's GNRS pics this year, this one stopped me dead every time. And I'm not a Kustom guy. That car just oozes class. Great car guys. Congrats.

Thanks! Tail lights are staying. For now anyway. They kinda grew on me. If anything I would go to 40 Merc tail lights.

It’s going to the Sacramento Autorama in February. Then coming to NJ shortly after that.

Thanks 38Chevy454. The amount of design time we have in it and Kevan Sledge playing with 1/8" changes here and there really paid off.
