Fixed the humidifier on the furnace. Fixed grandsons Aurora road race set..

 

Built a couple of hammer forms and started shaping out of stainless sheet what hopefully will be bezels for the gauges and glove box door on a 34 Dodge I'm building. Of course I ran out of argon in the tig so welding them up won't happen now till I get the bottle filled next week .

 

It appears to me that your front fender is on backwards.

 

Went to the kzoo swap meet and picked up a Firestone heater

Pulled the radiator. Having one fixed now then putting in a 32 shell.

 

NOTHING! Started on that project yesterday and did not finish. I think I finished , for now, today.

Got back on the movement of stuff from the old casa to the new casa....grabbed the 1937 sedan glass and regulators for the project that slipped away and some 1939/40 glass along with my 1956 hardtop Mopar glass.....and a big off topic "fish" rear window......and a 1963 tilt wheel.......

 

Worked 12 hours fixing the kitchen walls , Got up , material list , Home Depot , Execute..Happy with the results..

i took me some wood waste, my old spare wheel, a rattle can and a sticker that i bought on the earliest car exhibiton and swap meet of the year up here, yesterday in Bremen, northern Germany.
i always wanted to have a vintage tire display, but not for big money, so i spent about max. 10 bucks to build it on my own. and i'm satisfied with that.

 

After several years of wrenching on cars, I want to have my motorbike back on the streets this spring, so I took it out of storage today. I need to fix the charging system.

Loaded up more smoky stuff from the old casa....mostly my early 64/65 Cuda stuff....

 

I watched the KC Chiefs whup the 49ers today.

 

I hit our local annual swap meet, picked up some possible mirrors for the Henry J, some different hood pins, 3 old 1940's license plates and a set of 427 M/T valve covers.
Prices were decent, lots of stuff to be had, lots of stuff could of been flipped for a few bucks if that's your thing, great seeing all the car guys you haven't seen since last Sept-Oct.

February 3rd 2020 Next small task is the rear cab window. The trim piece is a cast item, held in place by clutch head screws from the interior side. For those not familiar with clutch head screws, they are a fastener anybody working on an old Chevy eventually encounters and it is usually a whiskey tango foxtrot moment. They are similar to Torx or Allen head fasteners but instead of a star or hex shape, clutch head fasteners are bowtie shaped. I purchased clutch head screwdrivers and bits long ago.

When I got all the fasteners out, the rear window surround came off the back. The glass was still held in place by the rear window seal. I gave the window a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet and it didn't budge. Examined the glass and rubber and found the glass to be clear and the seal to be intact without sign of cracking or hardening. I decided to leave the glass and seal in place. Beer of the day was Spencer Brewery's Premium Pilsner.

 

Built my SEGA super stock Comet short block.

 

Been sitting on my ass recovering from big toe joint replacement...Watching all my old hot rod movies and building models....I am so ready to get back in the garage and work on the real shit!!!

 

Almost finished the floor in my 50 Ply wagon

 

I hung the old (36-55) license plates above the inner garage door, smashed the shit out of my thumb with the hammer and moved my stereo (an old 150 watt home unit with 3 ft + tall speakers) from the front of the garage to the rear of the garage. Now it even sounds twice as loud in the smaller enclosed rear garage and I don't have to worry anymore about it shaking stuff off the shelves.



You can see where the old speakers were on the top shelf in this photo, bit of a pain to get those big bastards down and moved with a smashed thumb..lol

 

Made a transmission adapter to fit in my floor jack. Getting organized to install overdrive(automatic) in my 47 coupe.

 

Put my Flathead on the engine stand. Got the heads off and removed all the studs. Getting it ready for some new Sharps heads that are getting polished right now. Pulled the oil pan to get the flywheel off.

February 4th 2020 A few weeks ago when I saw that the cab bodywork was creeping up on me, I used it as an excuse to get a shiny new tool, the Eastwood Contour SCT Surface Conditioning Tool. I decided to get my feet wet with this gadget by using it to take the paint off the rear window surround. It did a good job. Took about fifteen minutes at the lowest speed setting. I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

 

If you’ve ever been to a commercial retail store you’ve seen this grid wall stuff. But behind the merchandise.

It’s readily available to the public but it’s God awful STUPID expensive.
Makes a nice and versatile wall.



I think is way better than Peg board and I had a lot of peg board in my old shop. I needed it but absolutely hated it.


So I figured the nice big now open back wall would be the pegboard wall. Then maybe a slat wall instead . Really wanted the grid wall or smart wall not pegboard .

I had them huge ass speakers,,, huge sound out of them. Then my wife’s cousin showed me these $35.00 set of speakers that both would fit into your welding hood & that had a small subwoofer about the size of your hood. They kicked ass, sent me packing and put me on the trailer. I threw them giant speakers out. Crystal clear sound and powerful thunderous music.
I know you just moved them but ,,,

 

Went to pick up my hotel room for bonneville, two hour drive from here, left on bare and dry roads, got to kelowna and it started to snow. Boy, did it snow, it really snowed and my two hour trip home turned to four hours, some of the worst roads I've ever driven on, four wheel drive engaged the entire way home. BUT, I'm getting ready for the big trip, my 36 should pull this nice, I'll outfit it like a teardrop, it'll be nice on the salt with an awning out. It's 4X6X4 feet tall inside, just under 500 pounds, keep me off the ground.
