I had a good time last year and plan on going this year to wander around and maybe buy some stuff I don't need, but its good to get out and see some stuff after the winter months!

Is this swap meet worth a 4 hour drive, It's not full of lawnmowers and socks?

  15. definitely worth it. like a mini Hershey.

  16. Most definitely I drive 3 and half hours and get a motel room to sell at this one. I can think of only two non-automotive or petromobilia vendors.

However, those vendors are selling vintage toys, and they are the only two.

No junk snow blowers, used baby clothes, or slime balls selling boot leg Do-Wop CDs.

Does Diabetic Sock Guy™ count though? He sells work clothes so I think he gets a pass, right?

I've been trying real hard not to think of the old tank bicycles someone was selling last year, or theres a real good chance one will be coming home with me if I have the spare cash!

  22. So the sock are diabetic or the guy selling them?:D

I have never seen it their asked my dad he does remember it ether, but when your selling you don't get to walk around much.

That shit is all over Rhenbeck it is basically a yard sale it this point, I haven't been in two years.

I don't remember if he had that sign out last year or the year before (I'm not sure if he was there last year, time has become a blur lately) but he was at a lot of the swaps a few years back when I was still selling. He sold bargain price work clothes and had a big sign that said DIABETIC SOCKS for a while (They call them non-binding socks now; they are less constrictive for people who have circulatory problems in their extremities).

TBH, even though I shook my head a bit, he did have the kind of stuff we all wear in the shop to work on our cars, so he really wasn't as far out as the guys with a bunch of used up tools and housewares from the 80's & 90's plopped down with a bunch of late model pickup parts that you see occasionally.
