Thanks Mikey, I’m a fan of your posts as well. I’m hoping that this thing cures my want for a front engine digger, a bonneville style car and a wilder version of my orange car all in one swoop. Right now I’m just glad to not be dead and to be building junk!

  4. If you fit, isn't that all that counts. Quality build, quality thinking, quality execution equals quality results. You've got those bases covered.

Coupe. With the body on and it sitting at ride height I am very happy with my pile of junk. For scale, my son is standing next to it, he is just under 6 ft tall. This thing is low.

  6. Low and mean. Jim, what does the wheel base come in at?

116” , a little longer than stock but should help it go straight.

  8. Yes that should help her stay on track. Short wheel base can be a handful, LOL.

Just a little update. Made the channels that the trunk sits in. Got the car sitting where I want it, and did a little inner trunk work. The engine set back looks dramatic, but there is still a lot of room in the car, for one guy. 995D0FA6-E888-4CEE-AE7F-1A370C2512E9.jpeg 9C0E47D0-9F4C-4457-8F6E-1D63E9B36FE3.jpeg 2E76928B-DECD-453C-88F4-D6ABBEB127F3.jpeg

    Cool!
You should call this thing “Frankenville”
    And run it at Bonneville!
Leave the welds! Paint it some sort of see through Green!

A709D3F9-C135-4E5F-B498-C80A9B32BF42.jpeg The body is removable. It will only have 4 bolts.. the rear trunk is not welded to the chassis.I split tubing and layed it on top of the chassis,

The hood is from a 40s international pickup, shoot, half of the roof is from a 57 Buick, this car is as mutt as they get, and I love it.

So, I had a 40 deluxe grill that was broke in 6 places. I cut the broken part off of it and wala!! Not a bad fit for a mock up.

So, now I’m thinking about hood sides. Should I do solid ones, or should I cut up the 35 truck sides that I have laying in the back yard and try to make a set so 34ish sides? I’m leaning towards the 34ish ones, but I really hate sanding louvers.

  30. Solid would compliment the B-ville look. And no louver sanding....
